Today I will define forex trading, compare forex trading with trading in traditional stocks, and give a recommendation on where to go to learn more.

Forex is the foreign exchange market. This has notoriously been the domain of governments and commercial and investment bankers. Finally, individuals are entering the are entering the forex market as it offers trading 24-hours a day and the daily dollar volume of currencies traded exceeds $1.9 trillion daily. Forex is the largest and most liquid market in the world!

Forex is like stock trading with money. Instead of trading blue chips like GE and Coca Cola you are trading US Dollars for UK Pounds, or Euro's or Japanese Yen. When you trade stocks you are trading in companies with an infinite number of variables. Trying to pick the winners is a daunting task, as anyone who has tried to trade will tell you. What are the advantages of forex, let me give you the sweet six.

Highest Liquidity

You can't get any more liquid than currency.

24 Hour Trading

The Forex market is open 24 hours daily. When the sun is going down in Asia it is just coming up in Europe.

Profit on Bulls and Bears

No matter which way the stock market is going, there is money to be made in money.

High Leverage

A small margin deposit can control a much larger position, because currency is money.

No Commissions or fees

Trading in Forex has much lower transaction costs.
